Remember the days when Pittu Bambuwa (good old BOC with a height of 105 meters) was the only skyscraper in the bustling commercial capital? Nostalgia hits you, right? And even before Pittu Bambuwa, the Ceylinco Seylan Building (76m) was there, since 1960s. The Bambalapitiya Tower Building was completed in 1980 for residential purposes. Then there was UDA Scheme Tower, purely built for residential purposes, in 1985 and 100 meters tall. Pittu Bambuwa arrived next, cementing the top place in Colombo skyline. That was, until, the two towers of World Trade Center were completed in 1996, both 152 meters tall. In the near future, Colombo skyline is going to be more populated. Now before that happens let’s go on a trip around Colombo to see the existing and upcoming towers of Colombo.
